biggest job losses since the great depression, that's what george w. bush and his failed policies left to us. we have put together as a nation, under president obama's leadership, 28 months of private sector jobs growth. would we like to be happening faster? you bet we would. we have to admit that the tea party republican congress has done everything in their power to stall this recovery. you know what, perhaps they might succeed. but our direction remains a direction forward. no one can argue the fact that last year, we created more jobs last year than were created in all of the eight years of george w. bush, that happened in 2010 as well. we need to keep moving forward. it would be great if the people of our country make change and put in some people who will create jobs. >> governor jindal, what about that point, this is forward motion, it is job creation and more, overall, than the bush administration created? >> well, terry, let's look at the facts of the full four years, where president obama has been president, we have lost more than 500,000 jobs. you look at family income -- you l

for george w. bush in 2000, i had a couple of calls from politicians, said, you know, it really helped me in my race back home because i was on the list. somebody could leak the fact that they were on the list. but that was the big list. it was easy to get on the big list. the tough one is the small list. the one is really under consideration. the test to get on that small list, is this person capable of being the president of the united states? and that's a very, very short list. >> what about the other considerations? can you reach out to a specific demographic, a woman or a hispanic? >> those are important issues. they should never be allowed to override that first proposition and i think that's one of the problems that mccain had. i liked governor palin, i have met her, i know her. she's an attractive candidate. but based on her background, she was only governor for two years, i don't think she passed that test of being ready to take over. and i think that was a mistake. >> for more from my interview with former vice president cheney tune in to "good morning america," "world
